We Need Your Help!
We got off to a very good start with your curbside recycling program. Your continued participation will insure the ongoing success of this program. We encourage residents to RECYCLE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. Only solid wastes generated by Stratham residents within Stratham should be part of the collection program. It is not only environmentally sound but financially advantageous in the long run to RECYCLE. Please take a few minutes to review this brochure, and recycle as many items as possible. Extra Recycling Bins are available at the Town Office at the cost of $10.00 each.
You can help our community and the environment by participating in this program. It takes just a few minutes of your time, and can make a real difference!
How Does Trash Pick-up Work?______
Trash is picked up on a weekly basis. Contact the Town Office for information regarding your collection day.
TRASH MUST BE BAGGED AND TIED and at curbside at 7:00 a.m. on your collection day. Heavy duty plastic bags, not to exceed 30 pounds in weight, are recommended. Loose trash in barrels will NOT be picked up.
In areas of town where animals and birds have been a problem, a solution of 50% ammonia and 50% water sprayed on the outside of trash bags at curbside has been helpful. If the problem persists, you may loosely place your bagged and tied garbage in a container. If this continues to be a problem please call Waste Management.
It is important to remember that with this program, we need your cooperation in order to avoid the costly "Pay Per Bag" programs that are being used in surrounding communities.
How Does Recycling Work?________
Recyclables are collected weekly on the same day as your bagged and tied trash.
It’s easy! Place all COMMINGLED recyclables (glass, narrow-neck plastic bottles, tin (steel) and aluminum cans) together in the bin after you have rinsed them out. Please remove, tops, caps and covers before recycling.
Place all PAPER recyclables next to your trash or on top of your commingled recyclables, putting newspapers in brown paper grocery bags, bundling magazines with twine, & bundling corrugated cardboard for pick-up.
Excess recyclables can be taken directly to the Transfer Station on Union Road on Saturdays during regular hours. SEE ATTENDANT.
RECYCLE! RECYCLE! RECYCLE!
