History of Stratham Scout Troops

The original Boy Scout Troop in Stratham was chartered on July 1, 1979, by scoutmaster  Tom Haslem. It is known as Troop 185.  They are presently supported by their Chartering Organization, the Stratham Volunteer Fire Department.  They hold meetings every Sunday evening, and have regularly scheduled events.

Due to the the large number of boys wanting to participate in scouting in the mid 1990's, a new troop was formed in August of 1996. It is known as Troop 896.  This troop is presently supported by their Chartering Organization, the Stratham Community Church.  They hold meetings every Sunday evening, and have regularly scheduled events.

Both Troop 896 and 185 have Cub Scout Packs for ages 6-11 and Boy Scout Troops for ages 11-18.
