OPENING:

Members present: Becky Mitchell, chair, Nancy Hansen, treasurer; secretary pro tem/alternate member, Beverly Connolly; Planning Board Representative, MJ Werner.
Meeting: Opened at 5:45 and adjourned at 6:30 pm.

Minutes: September 23 meeting minutes, written by Beverly Connolly, were accepted.

Treasury Report: None

BUSINESS:

Survey of Historical Resources: Becky reported delivering to Debbie Long copies of several surveys from the DHR Stratham files so that she could perform preliminary tests of the database. Becky, Nancy and Bev will work with Deb on October 28 using “Access” on various computers. The commission thanked MJ Werner for the gift of a digital camera, which will be used for the survey. Bev has e-mailed Richard Boisvert, State Archaeologist, regarding the possibility of obtaining volunteers through a state program, known as SCRAP, for some of the survey research.

Veteran's Registry: Nancy reported there is a need for software that is Excel compatible for inputting the Veterans’ Registry data. She and Bev will look into this.

Post Card Project: Bev showed several “thumbnail” photos by Stratham photographer, Nora Litzelman (Seacoast Smiles). The group made suggestions of several local places for photo subjects.

Demolition Review: Becky is in the process of formatting the final tracking form.

Planning Board and Gateway: The Gateway Master Plan will be presented to the Planning Board on October 29. MJ reported that the Planning Board currently is working on the Market Basket approval and that Webster is moving ahead with plans for the Technical School property.
